Botanicals

The botanicals sourced are from traditional landowners and we engage the local community to harvest and collect which enables us to support families living from the land.

Ormiston May 2024

This painting is a contemporary story that depicts my interpretation of “Ormiston” from the West McDonald rangers and its surrounding landscape.

The colours, red, yellow ochre, golds represent the colours of the landscape that surround Ormiston gorge.

The large Coolamon in the centre represents Women walking on country gather bush tucker, medicines and carrying their small children.  The arches at the corners depict the hills of the West McDonald rangers.  Circles surrounded by arches show where the Women would meet around Ormiston for gatherings and ceremonies.

Ormiston is a very sacred place with many important stories and songlines.
